Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest

Poplar Forest names Elevation Agency of Record

RICHMOND, VA (March 1, 2014) — Richmond-based advertising agency Elevation has been named agency of record by Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest.

Located in Lynchburg, Virginia, Poplar Forest was Thomas Jefferson’s beloved retreat. Just 70 miles from Monticello, it was the home where Jefferson spent his retirement—and where he often escaped to study and reflect outside the reach of Washington and his many admirers.

Elevation will handle all marketing planning and advertising implementation for this important tourist attraction, which was designed by Jefferson himself. Poplar Forest has been undergoing architectural restoration for decades, and is now making even greater strides to bring visitors to experience a new side of one of America’s most important figures.

“As a Virginian by birth and a University of Virginia alumnus, my life has been filled with the study and stories of Thomas Jefferson,” said Aaron Dotson, principal and creative director. “So this is a dream come true, not just for me, but for all of us at Elevation. We look forward to telling more people about the private side of Jefferson and the solace he found at Poplar Forest.”
