Elevation acquires Scalability Project

RICHMOND, VA (January 12, 2015) — Richmond-based advertising agency Elevation has acquired Scalability Project, a digital marketing firm. Scalability’s employees have joined the Elevation staff, and its founder, Shade Wilson, has been named Elevation’s new director of digital strategy.

Scalability Project was founded in 2011 by Wilson, an industry veteran with more than 15 years’ experience in digital marketing. The firm offered digital strategy and implementation services, including search marketing, social media planning, content development, lead generation and comprehensive analytics.

“Scalability Project has been a great partner to us in the past, and we are excited to welcome Shade and his team to Elevation,” said Aaron Dotson, principal and creative director. “We continue to expand our digital capabilities for both direct-to-consumer and business-to-business clients, and Shade will bring new leadership to this growing department. Digital is tightly integrated into everything we do, and this addition will ensure that we remain on the leading edge of both digital content development and lead generation for our clients.”

“I have admired and respected Elevation for years, both as a former client and as a strategic partner,” said Wilson. “I am thrilled to merge Scalability Project’s team with the strategically driven creative resources at Elevation, and we are already engaged in a number of new digital projects on a global scale. It’s a very exciting opportunity.”

The acquisition is the second for Elevation, which acquired Fultz + Associates in 2011. Elevation was founded in 2001 by Aaron Dotson and Frank Gilliam, and has grown into one of the region’s most respected agencies. Its clients include Allegis Global Solutions, Duke’s Mayonnaise, MeadWestvaco, McKesson, Tridium, Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods, Virginia 529, Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Virginia Credit Union, among others.
