Creating a brand for the disability community

Elevation has worked with Virginia529 for more than a decade, successfully promoting its college savings plans to parents in Virginia and beyond. Recent legislation created the opportunity for Virginia529 to launch an exciting new product: a 529-like savings plan for individuals with disabilities. These types of plans are called ABLE plans because the help individuals with disabilities “Achieve a Better Life Experience.” As one of the first financial institutions in the country to offer an ABLE plan nationwide, Virginia529 found itself in a pioneering position—and turned to Elevation to create the brand from the ground up.

We developed the name for the product, the logo and the graphic platform to be used for all marketing materials. Elevation also wrote, designed and developed the website for this exciting new program, ensuring that the work met WCAG Level AA requirements for use by individuals with disabilities.

Most importantly, we had the opportunity to meet and work with many people within the disability community who stand to benefit from this important program. We featured many of them in the video below that we created to launch the program. Footage from this video was later repurposed for targeted television and digital marketing opportunities.
